workbench2014.jpgJohn Greco Urns is a small business I founded in 2008 dedicated to handcrafting copper cremation urns using traditional metalsmithing techniques. All of my urns are designed and fabricated in my New Orleans studio on an individual and personal basis. I'm the person you speak to on the phone, the person who designs and fabricates your urn and the person who packages it for a safe delivery to your home. I take pride in the work I do and the satisfaction of the people who choose my work.

I previously worked in New Orleans' historic French Quarter as a designer and craftsman for the city's oldest and most recognized gas light company for over thirteen years. There I designed and built custom copper gaslights that can be seen throughout New Orleans, the United States and abroad. My urns have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the country including the American Visionary Art Museum.

I'm interested in creating unique cremation urns that will not only house remains, but will also be a work of art that will adorn your home and commemorate your loved one. Each urn is designed to be completely functional without sacrificing aesthetics. My urns are hand riveted and soldered for a durable construction that will last a lifetime and beyond. Every urn is handcrafted from scratch, including the silver hinges and other hardware on my box style urns. Each urn is aged for an antique appearance and is stamped with my maker's mark to ensure authenticity.

I take great pride knowing that my urns are unparalleled in design and exemplify the highest standards of craftsmanship. Although I often think of my designs as having an elegant simplicity, I'm capable of making extremely detailed custom cremation urns through the use of precious metals, patinas, and  photo etched designs to create a one of a kind memorial.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and I hope you find an urn that will not only stand out as a unique way of honoring your loved one, but as a unique work of commemorative art.
